AirTec focuses on the highest quality of the services it provides!
The highest quality requires the best machines and facilities. That’s why, after many trainings, comparisons and shared experiences with our European partners, we decided to invest in a modern computer-controlled shock absorber testbench (Shockabsorber Dyno).
The electronically adjustable shock absorber is an extremely complex and precise part, the repair and adjustment of which is not an easy task. In order for our service to meet all OEM standards (and to be the best on the market), we use a precision computer-controlled shock absorber dynamometer.
The secret of any repair lies in the correct localization of the problem. Most companies and repair shops believe that one inspection of the shock absorber is enough to assess its condition, the stem is bound all the way and if it rebounds, it is strong enough; if it remains in the bound position, it is damaged. This is absolute nonsense and grossly inadequate. Each shock absorber has a certain performance characteristic. What is meant by performance characteristics, is its different behavior at different speed and load. A shock absorber may look strong at first glance, but at the same time be completely useless and ineffective under heavy loads.
We at AirTec leave NOTHING to chance. For the proper diagnosis of each shock absorber, we use our own computer controlled dynamometric shock absorber test bench. With its help, we in fact simulate shock absorber performance in real time and road-like conditions, while recording all characteristics and presenting them in tabular and graphical form. Some of the more important (and easier to explain) features are:
- Oil-leak test – By recreating the actual operating environment of the shock absorber, we can check whether there is any oil-leak during operation.
- Bound & Rebound test at a random speed – We choose what speed and load to test at. This is how we test the behavior of the shock absorber behavior in every situation.
- Test of shock absorber resistance force in different position of bound and rebound – By measuring the resistance of the shock absorber we can establish its functionality and behavior. Based on this computer data, we can tune it (modify its behavior).
- Test and check of the electronic adjustment of the stiffness of the shock absorber – Thanks to the computer control of the test bench, we are able to test the shock absorber, controlling the electronic stiffening system during the test. With this test, we know if we need to repair the electronic hardening as well.
- “BEFORE / AFTER” test – Thanks to the test bench, we can compare the data for each shock absorber before and after repair. That is how we see the proof of the efficiency of our work.
- Noise test – If something raps, rattles or pops, we’ll detect it before it’s installed in your car.
- Fast, easy and accurate problem detection and identification –
The electronically adjustable shock absorber is a complex and precise system consisting of many components. Any problem in one of these components manifests itself in a strictly profiled way in the operation of the shock absorber. Since the test covers the entire working range of the shock absorber, we actually test the performance of all its parts. Or to put it more simply, each typical failure changes the computer graphics in a precise way, that is, based on the graphic deviations, we can identify the problem even before we have opened the shock absorber. Lack of hydraulic oil, clogged bypass, cavitation, lack of gas, mixing of gas with oil, damaged valves and piston element, etc., leave their distinctive mark on the computer graphics. With the help of the test bench, we not only know what needs to be repaired, but we check afterwards whether we have repaired it correctly.
Only at AirTec do you receive a computer graphic from our test bench, guaranteeing absolute correspondence between the characteristics of the repaired product and a new original one. By choosing AirTec, you choose reliability, quality and security!
